Community

We have been learning about communities. Today we learned that our school is a community.

We talked to many different people in our school that help our school to run. Here are some things that the students learned.

Megan said "The principal is like the mayor. She makes a lot of decisions about what should happen at our school."

John said "The students are the citizens. They need to be there in order to have a school."

George said "The custodian is very important. Without him we would have one messy school and no one would want to come to our school."

My question for you today is...

Is your home a community? Please comment below to let me know what you think. We will look at our comments tomorrow.

Field Trip

Parents, Here is the information for our upcoming field trip. This is my favorite field trip. The hike is always lots of fun, even more so if students are prepared. We will leave on Thursday at 9:30. Make sure your child has a lunch or has signed up for a school sack lunch.

Spelling Bee Winners

Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Winners.

They had some tough words to spell. They will go on to our district spelling bee. Good luck and Congratulations!

Simple Machines

In Science this week we have been learning about simple machines.

I asked students to look for examples of simple machines in their home and community. I am looking forward to seeing what they find.

Wax Museum

The Assignment for the wax museum was given today. Students need to choose who they would like to be by November 10. We will go to the library on November 9 where they will have a chance to look at biographies.

Parents here are some pictures of examples of what the wax museum will look like. Your students need to dress up like that person and have a presentation board with the requirements that were sent home. Please let me know if you have questions.
